Why The North Pointe Garage Choice Matters
A single RV bay, two deep car bays, and a double-RV arrangement solve different storage problems. Start with how many vehicles must fit indoors, how you will move each one, and whether you need access around them. North Pointe’s supplied storage reminder makes that more than a convenience question.
Check The HOA Storage RulesMeasure The Whole Rig, Then The Whole Path
Start with the equipment you actually own. For a boat, record the total trailered length from the hitch to the farthest point at the stern. Check whether a swing tongue, removable platform, or tilted motor changes that number. For a motorhome, include rooftop equipment, mirrors, racks, and the space needed to access doors and compartments.
Write down the length, height, and width in the configuration you’ll use for storage. Then allow working space around it. A bay that technically contains a vehicle may leave no comfortable room to unload, maintain it, or walk past.
The Opening
Measure the clear opening with the door fully open. A nominal door size is not a verified clear opening. Track position, seals, lighting, and opener hardware can reduce clearance. Check the tallest point and the widest point of the rig, not just the body.
The Bay
Measure from the closed-door plane to the first obstruction at the back. Note cabinets, steps, equipment, columns, and the shape of adjoining bays. Ask whether the listed garage depth describes the RV bay, a car bay, or the overall footprint.
The Approach
Check driveway length and slope, turning space, curb transitions, the home’s door position, and gate access. Verify whether a low trailer or long wheelbase can make the approach. Arrange a safe fit check with the owner’s permission when it would resolve uncertainty.
Earlier North Pointe Plan Examples
The developer publishes several plan configurations. These examples explain why a model name alone is not enough. Dimensions below are published plan descriptions, not measurements of every home with that name.
| Plan Example | Published Garage Detail | What Still Needs Checking |
|---|---|---|
| Mesquite Double RV — Ask HavasuLew | A 20-foot-wide × 14-foot-high door; described depths vary by lot and configuration. | Actual clear opening, usable interior width and depth, obstructions, and the built plan. |
| Smoketree — Ask HavasuLew | A 12-foot-wide × 14-foot-high RV door and a described 72-foot RV bay; extensions depend on the lot and plan. | Whether the home includes an extension, its clear dimensions, and driveway maneuvering. |
| Ocotillo — Ask HavasuLew | A described 77-foot RV garage with a 14-foot door height. | Door width, actual clearance, usable depth, and systems in the specific home. |

Builder plans, options, phase offerings, pricing, and availability can change. A 20-foot door width is not a statement of interior bay width.

Use Two Searches
First, search North Pointe with the garage feature that matters most. Then repeat the search without a garage filter. Read the remarks, look at the floor plan, and compare the garage photographs. MLS labels and missing measurements can leave relevant homes out of a narrow result.
The Garage And The HOA Belong In The Same Conversation
The supplied North Pointe community reminder restricts visible boat, jet ski, RV, trailer, and motorhome storage and directs owners to off-site storage when the equipment will not fit in the garage. Side parking or a long driveway does not settle whether you may store a rig there.
Read the ownership guide and the actual documents before buying based on a storage plan.
